What you do
As a Science & Research Advisor, you'll play a key role within our R&D team. You'll translate scientific insights into concrete applications that strengthen our product development and production processes. You'll work on innovation and optimization projects, bridging the gap between internal expertise and external knowledge sources such as universities, suppliers, and other players in the food industry.
You're passionate about food technology, closely monitor trends and new technologies, and ensure that relevant developments in products, raw materials, and processes find their way into our organization. You'll work closely with colleagues in R&D, quality, production, and supply chain, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational performance.
Core tasks
- You independently conduct applied scientific research with the aim of improving product performance, process control and production efficiency.
- You initiate and coordinate R&D projects focused on innovation, quality and technological renewal.
- You build a network of external experts (suppliers, research institutions, universities, etc.) and use this network as a sounding board for internal challenges.
- You translate scientific developments in the market into applicable insights for our products and processes.
- You act as a substantive sparring partner for your colleagues in product development, packaging and process optimization.
- You develop and implement methodologies that support the scientific substantiation of our product development (e.g. through experimental design, statistical evaluation, validation).
- You proactively share knowledge within the team and ensure that scientific insights are anchored in our organization.
Who you are
- You have a master's degree in food technology, bioengineering, chemistry or a related field.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in applied research or R&D within the food industry or a related sector.
- You are analytical, curious and think in possibilities.
- You have a strong interest in technology, data, process control and innovation.
- You work independently, in a structured manner and take initiative.
- You are a bridge builder who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
